The book covers how to deal with grief in schools. Grief reactions of children and adolescents are described and reasons for grief are presented: Death due to chronic illness, sudden deaths such as suicide, accident, and severe targeted violence. Appropriate intervention measures are presented. Finally, the limitations of these intervention measures in schools are discussed. This book is a translation of the original German 1st edition Trauer an Schulen by Matthias Bh̲mer and Georges Steffgen, published by Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature in 2021. A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content, so that the book will read stylistically differently from a conventional translation.
