Ectopic pregnancy is defined as gestational sac implantation outside the uterine cavity, and is estimated to account for 1.5% to 2% of all pregnancies. Although the incidence of the condition has nearly tripled in recent decades, its mortality has dropped due to early diagnosis and treatment before rupture. This book discusses the diagnosis, management and complications of an ectopic pregnancy.
