When Kite's best friend commits suicide, Kite's world falls apart. Overwhelmed by grief and confusion, yet unable to shed a tear, she leaves London to spend the summer in the countryside. Six weeks away is supposed to heal her broken spirit, but Kite feels immune to the natural beauty around her. She misses Dawn with a pain that is physical, yet she is furious with her too. If only she could speak to her one last time and find out what drove her friend to take such a terrible step.
But Kite is alone. Until the day she meets Garth, a local boy who seems to understand her pain. Slowly, he helps her untangle the emotions that are threatening to tear her apart. But will Kite's brave spirit every return?
