This is a report of further analysis from the national survey of the mental health of children and adolescents in Great Britain in 1999. It presents analysis of self-harm reports by parents about their children aged 5-15 and by the children themselves aged 11-15. It shows the prevalence of reported self-harm by socio-demographic and psychiatric characteristics of young people as well as family social and economic functioning.
