Aphasia in clinical practice

This book considers the wider implications of working with people with aphasia (PwA) in the clinical setting. In particular, it focuses on what is needed by PwA, and their family and carers, in the real world and the role of Speech and Language Therapy in this: what does meaningful assessment look like, how can we understand the goals and priorities of PwA, and how does the experience of living long-term with aphasia shape clinical practice? The importance of listening to and working alongside PwA is underpinned by inviting contributions from PwA and their families to add to the as-yet scanty evidence of what it means to live with aphasia.
Aphasia in Clinical Practice provides a practice-oriented text that sits alongside the traditional 'impairment-focused' approaches and covers topics highly relevant pertinent to aphasia in clinical practice which have not heretofore been covered in one volume.
