520 _aPrimary health care services are the foundation of the health service, and the scope of their role in health maintenance is increasing. As high consultation rates indicate, they play a particularly important role in the health care of black and minority ethnic elderly people. However, very little is known about how they fulfil this role, the issues they encounter, and how these are approached. This study shows the extent to which general practice is addressing the particular needs of elderly people from this sector of society.
